Coming from the historian Niall Ferguson this is disengenious as he is know for putting a lot of blame on abritain and our foreign secretary Lord Grey in particular, but in a couple of paragraphs in a chapter titled ‘The Gamblers’ he clearly has reasons to feel there were a few too many Machiavellis in German politics machinating towards a conflict so that Germany too could have a chance at Greatness and Empire.
I need help with – at what point is something so complex or so open to debate that there can be no resolution?
