Wonder about in garden, look at my pair of skiing goggles and try on trousers. Watch TV do some crochet after Joanna had taught me. Play with rabbit.

The garden surrounding our large detached house in Fencer Hill Park was full of ornamental trees, which had been part of the landscaped garden for the manor house belonging to Lord and Lady Souter. There were various mature trees: holly, plum, and cherry trees. Dad had planted ornamental rhododendrons, dwarf apple trees, and a beech hedge.
Home has its quiet rhythm. Our parents had divorced several years before. Dad had bought some timeshares in the ski resort of La Plagne and, not wanting to be left out, Mum tried to take us skiing. We were off to Isola 2000 in the French Maritime Alps.
In those days, we wore salopettes.
My younger sister, who would have been eleven, went to a school in Gosflerg. She must have crocheted something and showed me how.
Getting the pet rabbit Joker out was a time-filler, something to do. She was a prominent Dutch-haired rabbit who lived in the dog kennel. We brought her inside when we had the TV on. She’d sit on our lap or fall asleep under the TV.
