Fifty-Years On: Thursday, 26th March 1976
Heavy rain, the first for a long time. The last for a long time. A voice from the year 2026 points out it is not enough to replenish supplies. This sets up the country for the forthcoming drought.
English/History: Do Tolpuddle notes, don’t finish, others hand theirs in. Fifty years on im yet to get to Australia.
French: Quiz on France. A friend got 20. I got 15. C’est La vie. It doesn’t stop me from getting a French girlfriend. It also doesn’t stop me from working in France over several years in the 80s and 90s. I work in French TV, translate animations and writer script reviews for a a film distributor.
Maths: Topology.
Break. Coffee.
German: worried about the test, relax. Did German—about the three Reichs Funny how it’s all neat on the board. Mum’s father fought them in one war, Dad’s in the next.
Latin: do Punch on the freeze of 1947 and a poem in Latin. The Rev. A.T.I. Bogis is our Latin teacher. He is well into his 70s and still teaching, if you can call it that. He wanted to reminisce about 30 years ago.
