If the salary was the same, what job would you be doing right now and why?

Four times in my life, and rarely for more than a few months at a stretch, have I had what could be called a salary. Just the concept of signing away my life in exchange for a fixed monthly payment sends a shiver through me. It is in my nature to be freelance.
So the question is already slightly wrong for me. If the salary were the same, what job would I be doing? I don’t want a salary at all.
Like the Royal Family, I’d prefer an allowance.
So I’ll take a Prince’s job.
More specifically, I’ll be Prince William and Harry’s older brother, the bastard product of a youthful affair Charles had with an Australian girl in his late teens. The Palace knows about me, obviously. The allowance is substantial so I say nothing and don’t make a fuss.
Crucially, I have no realistic prospect of becoming King.
I’d keep diaries.
I’d write books.
I’d campaign to abolish the monarchy and nationalise all land taken from the people of the British Isles by the Norman conquerors in 1066, and their ancestors ever since.
