What are your best healthy eating habits?

The weekly veg box

A year on the ZOE Health programme consolidated habits I was already moving towards. My best one is probably that almost all our meals are prepared from scratch, so I know what is going into them and avoid much of the ultra-processed food that otherwise creeps into a diet.

Variety is another big one. I eat a wide range of vegetables, pulses and beans, with plenty of salads and leafy greens. Nuts and seeds are everyday foods rather than occasional extras, and yoghurt and kefir give me fermented foods regularly.

What has changed most is that healthy eating no longer feels like a diet or something requiring much thought. It has simply become the way I eat: lots of different plants, minimally processed ingredients, food cooked from scratch, and enough variety to keep it interesting.
